It works just perfectly, I've been using it. The only inconvenience I've found is that the DPF backpressure is not reported correctly since I think it doesn't support the differential pressure sensor fitted in the US version.

May take you some time to figure it out but there's so much literature out there on the topics you just need to search and start reading, in particular look on the proper network setup, changes needed to the EDIABAS.INI in the host, IFH Server and a bunch of other goodies. I like DIS because my computer is old and slow; I've also developed a certain proficiency and familiarity. It works fine and as I said the only thing that doesn't quite function as supposed is the reported DPF backpressure. Everything else works: I've used the fuel system priming and the transfer case reset. All codes clear just fine and all important diagnostics work. Loading a VM snapshot takes less then a minute and I find it perfect for the yearly checkup of the car.

You could look into ISTA which is what followed DIS, but requires a modern computer (not my 10 year old Centrino Sonoma) and maybe even a different interface. I haven't looked too much into it, although I have a working instance that I use for the wiring diagrams and knowledge base. It takes about 10 minutes to load a snapshot. As far as I know there's nothing that ISTA does that DIS can't do: the GUI is more modern and supports more recent cars. I just recently learned about a phone app called BMWhat that is supposed to do some very good diagnostics and code reading. It connects to the car via Bluetooth dongle. I'm waiting for the dongle to come in the mail from Germany, but if you go over to the Diesel section of Bimmerfest you'll find a topic on this subject.

I've used Progman in my other cars, but when I had to do the coding for the trailer hitch on our 2009 I prefereed traking to the dealer as I'm sure my Progman is outdated. It worked fine on coding the trailer hitch on our prior 2004 X3 and the hardtop on our 2003 Z4. For other customization of the car I use NCS Expert.
